FAQs:

How long will Moodle be unavailable?
We expect that Moodle will be unavailable from around 08:00 on Thursday 24th July until around 08:00 the following day. Access may be restored earlier than this, but we strongly recommend that any material you require from Moodle is accessed/downloaded by the end of Wednesday 23rd July.

Will staff or students require training on how to use the new version of Moodle?

While Moodle 4.5 brings with it a range of new features and an improved appearance, the core interface and functionality will remain the same. Existing Moodle users will be able to navigate the upgraded Moodle platform as usual.

Will existing courses and course content be impacted in any way?
Existing courses, material, and user data will continue to be accessible as normal after the upgrade. Please note that current year 24/25 courses will enter ‘archive’ mode after IRDAP (see Rollover & Archiving process for more details).
